How will metadata change the film business and what impact will it have for producers? At yesterday’s Explorer Konferenz in Hamburg our CEO Peter Effenberg and CMO Irmela Wrogemann discussed how producers can shape the shift towards data-driven film production.
Metadata has been the talk of the town for some years. Now, thanks to our tech solution, it could finally become a game-changer for the film industry. For the first time, jay allows users to access metadata from the various stages of film production and use it for distribution or the creation of in-stream experiences. This promises to unlock new business models for broadcasters, enable the monetisation of production data, automated workflows, audience interaction and in-stream shopping.
With the auditorium full of film makers, Peter and Irmela explored how producers can benefit from these promises. The talk was followed by a stimulating and controversial discussion that also shed light on challenges that lie ahead. We gained new ideas and fresh perspectives and also learned a lot from the feedback by the creatives in the room.
