We’re thrilled to share our selection as a finalist of the HbbTV Awards 2023! Our in-stream infotainment service, which premiered live on Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg in October 2022, is in the running for “Best technology innovation in an HbbTV product or service”.
Our one-of-a-kind application offers viewers additional information on a film’s cast, locations, and trivia – first screen, at any moment during the film. The response from the audience has been remarkable, with over two thirds of users rating the app as “good” or “very good”. What’s even better: every second user wants to use jay in the future and would recommend it to others.
Being nominated as one of this years’ tech innovators is a great acknowledgment of our work, and we’re proud to stand with jay alongside nominees like RTL, Video Solutions AG, and ZDF & TeraVolt! The winners will be revealed at the 11th HbbTV Symposium and Awards in Naples on November 28, 2023. Fingers crossed!

🤝 Flagship Collaboration 🤝
For the broadcast premiere of our service, jay joined forces with Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg. Together, we launched in-stream infotainment on HbbTV during the airing of the crime drama “Polizeiruf 110: Fremde im Spiegel” on October 27, 2022. Since this debut, we’ve continued our collaboration with further formats like the docu-drama “Kennedy’s Love for Europe”.

Our in-stream application seamlessly works on all HbbTV devices with no special requirements. To access it, simply press the red button on your remote control.
👏 Audience Feedback👏
A survey of 1.020 users showed great interest in the service and high user loyalty through frequent interaction. Over two thirds rated the app as “good” or even “very good”, and around 80% find the function “easy to use”. Every second user wants to use jay in the future and would recommend the service to others. During the screening of “Kennedys’s Love for Europe” on July 4, 2023, 71 % of all HbbTV viewers engaged with the application.

As our service is based on metadata, it is currently exclusive to selected film productions with corresponding metadata. The good news: plans for additional formats are already in progress.
